The UK’s leading independent
cement production
air dryer specialist.

In cement production, compressed air systems operate under some of the toughest, most abrasive conditions in the industrial world. It is heavily relied upon for pneumatic conveying, silo aeration, pulse-jet dust collection (baghouses), and process automation. When this air is poorly managed (i.e., wet, oily, or inconsistent), the problems cascade quickly:

Moisture and Condensation
If compressed air isn’t properly dry, water vapor enters pipelines where it interacts directly with moisture-sensitive dry materials.

Contamination & Sludge
High ambient dust levels, when mixed with compressor oil and moisture, create a thick, abrasive sludge inside the air network.

System Overload
Continuous, heavy-duty demand strains underperforming compressors, leading to pressure drops that starve critical pneumatic machinery.

When the problems above occur, the consequences hit both the bottom line and site safety:

Severe Blockages (Operational)
Wet air causes cement powder to hydrate and harden inside pneumatic conveying pipes and silos. Clearing these concrete-like blockages is incredibly labour-intensive and costly.

Baghouse Filter Failure (Safety & Operational)
If wet air fouls the pulse-jet dust collectors, the plant can no longer effectively manage airborne silica dust. This creates respiratory hazards for workers and environmental compliance violations.

Premature Machinery Wear (Operational)
Abrasive, damp air wears out the internal seals of heavy-duty pneumatic cylinders, valves, and actuators, leading to a constant cycle of expensive replacements.

Unplanned Downtime (Operational)
Cement plants rely on continuous operation, so an air system failure that stops a kiln or mill from operating can halt the entire production line, at a cost that runs into thousands of pounds per hour.

The ultimate implication of poor air quality in heavy manufacturing is equipment failure and real operational losses. In an industry built on volume and continuous output, unexpected downtime destroys profitability. Failing to control dust due to compromised air systems exposes your workforce to hazardous environments, which brings its own regulatory and liability risk. In cement production, robust reliability is the absolute core of survival.

ISO 45001 & Avetta Safety Star Awards
Working safely in heavy manufacturing environments involves navigating some genuinely significant risks. Our back-to-back Avetta Safety Star awards and ISO 45001 accreditation for occupational health and safety management reflect our sustained commitment to safe working practices. We integrate seamlessly into your high-risk environment, ensuring maintenance and upgrades are conducted without endangering personnel or operations.

29 Years of Heavy Industry Experience
With nearly three decades of experience supporting cement and heavy manufacturing sites, ADT understands the strain placed on your equipment. From routine servicing to full system upgrades, we deliver robust, high-performance compressed air solutions engineered to withstand extreme dust and maximise uptime.

Moisture interacting with cement powder is a recipe for disaster. By installing robust, specialised desiccant or refrigerated dryers designed for heavy-duty environments, ADT strips moisture from the air before it reaches your processes. Delivering consistently dry, high-pressure air so your conveying lines flow freely, your dust collectors pulse the way they should, and your heavy machinery operates reliably, whatever the conditions.
